2010
The start
Matt Hodgson has over 20 years experience within the construction industry, since 2010 after gaining a degree in Architectural Stonework and Historical Building Conservation he has spent the last 13 years as a historical building conservator.
2016
Beginning as a sole traders
Beginning as a sole trader he was lucky enough to gain experince from some of the best in the industry whilst working on some very important historical buildings.
In 2016 he was invited to become Director of The Wessex Conservation Company to help it grow and establish itself within the field of historical building conservation.
Wessex Conservation Company soon built a reputation for delivering a high standard of conservation techniques and methods of repair whilst been able to undertake various and diverse works to historically significant buildings of all types around the south-west of England.
With experience of working alongside Historical England, National Trust and respected architects within conservation he was able to continue his passion for our historical heritage whilst training and passing skills and knowledge onto others.
2022
Chronstruct started
In 2022 Matt started Chronstruct with the aim to carry out conservation, restoration and maintenance within North Somerset and surrounding areas. With a huge knowledge of traditional materials, methods of repair and a diverse skill range, specifically with stonework and lime pointing , Chronstruct is able to deliver sympathetic repair, maintenance and advice on all types of structures and properties.
